The world’s largest participation action sports event comes to ExCel - SPIKED X in the City takes place from 22-24 October 2010 and is the perfect opportunity to have a day out and get the adrenaline flowing! There are 9 zones of action covering the elements of land, water and snow over 153,000 sq feet, 31 sports to watch and try, competitions, demos, and over 200 elite athletes, pro riders and emerging talent showing off their skills on the ramps, tracks, courses, walls as well as in the cage and pool. The main zones are Ride & Roll, Freestyle, Water, Art of Combat, Snow, Parkour, Base Camp, Cage Cricket and Climb. .
Freestyle skiing and snowboarding announced at X in the City London
Southwell Enterprises is bringing the Snow Slope to SPIKED X in the City.
From 22-24 October 2010 you will find a 7.5 meter high ramp in the centre of the Snow Zone at X in the City, the world’s largest participation action sports event. In line with the ethos of the event, you can watch demos and competitions, learn a new sport, meet some high profile athletes and get involved yourself.
The Warren Smith Ski Academy, the leading British snow sport coaching school, will offer top level coaching for all people keen on having a go at and experiencing skiing or snowboarding for the 1st time.
They will run 6 sessions a day on the huge indoor 15 meters wide and 30 meters long learning slope, with bookings being taken at X in the City on a first come basis.
On Sunday 24th October the Mountain Dew Energy Big Air Invitational will be taking place, with 10 skiers and 10 snowboarders battling it out for a place in the evening final.
The ramp is perfect for extreme freestyle demos on to the huge air bag, and you will also see BMX and mountain board riders throwing down cutting edge freestyle tricks up to five times a day.
Names for the Mountain Dew Energy Big Air Invitational competition and the demos will be announced shortly.
